| Obverse description | Central field features the numeral '5' above the Devanagari denomination legend 'पाँच रुपैयाँ' (Paanch Rupaiyaan, meaning Five Rupees). The country name 'नेपाल' (Nepal) and the Bikram Sambat date '२०४३' (2043 VS) appear in the lower portion of the field. A circular legend in Devanagari script running along the upper rim gives the name of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah. The entire design is bordered by a ring of small beads. |
