Obverse description The Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, is depicted at center, showing three lions passant on an abacus bearing a Dharma Chakra flanked by a bull and a horse in relief. Below the emblem, the national motto in Devanagari script reads 'Satyameva Jayate' (Truth Alone Triumphs). The large numeral '5' occupies the lower field, with the legend 'INDIA' arcing along the right periphery and 'BHARAT' in Devanagari along the left, while 'RUPEES' curves along the lower right rim.
