Obverse description The Seychelles national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a coco-de-mer palm tree, a tortoise, two sailfish, and a stylised landscape with sea and sky. The shield is supported by two marlins and surmounted by a white fairy tern in flight. A ribbon below the shield bears the motto FINIS CORONAT OPUS. The curved legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 2016 positioned in the lower field.
