Opmerkingen

Mauritius gained independence in March 1968, and this note — issued from 1967 under the newly established Bank of Mauritius — bridges the colonial monetary order and the post-independence one. The Bank had been set up just ahead of independence specifically to replace the Board of Commissioners of Currency, meaning early printings of this series were technically authorized before the country they served had formally come into existence.

Three signature combinations across the series reflect fifteen years of changing gubernatorial and ministerial appointments, making pair attribution a useful tool for narrowing dating within the broad 1967–1982 window.
