Obverse description The silver centre displays the Russian State emblem — a double-headed eagle with wings spread, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, enclosed by a fine inner beaded border. Below the eagle, the Cyrillic legend БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) curves along the lower arc of the centre, flanked by the fineness marks Ag 925 to the left and 19.2 to the right, with the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) at the lower right. The gold outer ring bears the denomination ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ (Five Roubles) along the upper arc in bold Cyrillic characters, with the date 2006 г. along the lower arc, and the alloy designations Au 900 to the left and 23.3 to the right, all separated by raised dot stops.
