5 Roubles Revenue Stamp - Type 2

Chita's State Bank branch began issuing provisional currency in 1918 as Transbaikalia dissolved into competing White, Red, and Japanese-backed factions. These revenue stamp notes — overprinted or repurposed fiscal material pressed into monetary service — were a direct product of that administrative collapse, with no functional connection to Petrograd by the time they circulated.

Type 2 distinguishes this from an earlier overprint variant, the differences typically involving the stamp impression or validation text rather than the underlying fiscal paper itself. Supply chains for proper banknote stock were simply not operating in eastern Siberia in 1918.
