| Obverse description | The obverse features the imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed, with wings spread and each head surmounted by a crown, the whole beneath a central imperial crown. The eagle's dexter talon clutches a sceptre and the sinister a globus cruciger, while the breast bears a central shield depicting St. George slaying the dragon. Eight subsidiary shields, displaying the arms of various Russian territories, are arranged around the eagle's wings. The mint marks 'M' and 'W' appear in the lower field to left and right respectively, identifying the Warsaw Mint. |
