Obverse description Central device features the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed with wings spread downward, surmounted by a single Imperial crown topped with a cross finial; the eagle's breast bears an escutcheon with the St. George and dragon motif. The talons grip crossed thunderbolts, arrows, and a laurel branch. The denomination legend ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ· arcs across the upper field, while the date 1829 ГОДА· curves along the lower field, flanked by the mintmaster's initials П and Д. The design is rendered in fine intaglio relief with a plain field.
