Opmerkingen

Transnistria's banknotes occupy a peculiar position in numismatics: issued by a state unrecognized by any United Nations member, they function as legal tender within a territory that officially, under international law, does not exist as a sovereign entity. The Republican Bank operates as a fully functional central bank regardless, setting monetary policy for roughly 470,000 people along a narrow strip of the Dniester's left bank.

The 2014 date marks a reissued series rather than a redesign — the underlying note architecture was established earlier, with the 2014 printing introduced primarily to update security features. Paper composition was retained despite periodic discussions within the bank about polymer substrates.
