| Reverse description | A panoramic cityscape of Minsk is rendered in fine relief, featuring the Victory Monument obelisk at centre, crowned with the Soviet star and flanked by the Olympic rings symbol above. To the left stands a classical-style civic building, and to the right a modernist multi-storey structure, with trees and landscaping in the foreground. The curved peripheral legend reads 'ИГРЫ XXII ОЛИМПИАДЫ · МОСКВА · 1980' along the upper border, with 'МИНСК' inscribed at lower left, the Leningrad Mint monogram (ЛМД) at lower right, and the year '1977' at the base. |

| Additional information |
Part of the ten-coin commemorative series issued ahead of the 1980 Moscow Olympics, this piece honors Minsk as one of the five host cities for preliminary football matches. The Soviet state mint produced the series in waves beginning in 1977, with distribution managed partly through Vneshposyltorg, the hard-currency export agency — meaning many examples left the USSR immediately as foreign exchange earners rather than circulating domestically at face value.
