Reverse description The reverse bears a relief depiction of the monument to the defenders of the Rybachiy (Fisherman's) Peninsula, located in the Murmansk Region, rendered in fine sculptural detail against a plain field. A circular legend runs along the rim, divided into two arcs by a pair of asterisks: the upper arc reads 'ОПЕРАЦИЯ ПО ОСВОБОЖДЕНИЮ КАРЕЛИИ И ЗАПОЛЯРЬЯ' (THE OPERATION FOR THE LIBERATION OF KARELIA AND THE ARCTIC), and the lower arc reads 'ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941–1945 гг.' (GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR 1941–1945).
