The Battle of Kulm in August 1813 was a pivotal rearguard action in Bohemia where Russian and Austrian forces cut off and destroyed a French corps under General Vandamme, capturing him in the process. It came just days after the Allied defeat at Dresden — Kulm prevented a full rout and kept the coalition intact long enough to reach Leipzig two months later.
This piece belongs to the long-running Russian series commemorating the bicentennial of the 1812 Patriotic War and its associated campaigns, issued across several years beginning in 2012.
