Aanvullende informatie

Issued as part of Russia's long-running WWII anniversary series, this coin commemorates the 1943 Dnieper campaign — one of the largest river crossings in military history, involving roughly 2.5 million Soviet troops along a 2,400-kilometer front. The Soviet command awarded the title "Hero of the Soviet Union" more liberally during this operation than in almost any other single engagement of the war, with over 2,000 soldiers receiving the decoration for the crossing alone.
