Transnistria — the narrow strip of Soviet-nostalgic territory between Moldova and Ukraine — declared independence in 1990 but remains unrecognized by any United Nations member state. Its Republican Bank issues commemorative coinage nonetheless, accepted domestically and largely acquired by thematic collectors abroad. This piece marks the official anthem, adopted after the breakaway administration formalized its governmental institutions in the early 1990s, borrowing heavily from Soviet ceremonial culture.
The Transnistrian Rouble itself has no fixed exchange rate recognized by international markets and cannot be used outside the territory's borders.
