The outer border bears the Arabic legend of the Government of Ajman and its dependencies along the upper arc, and the English legend GOVERNMENT OF AJMAN & ITS DEP. along the lower arc, separated by five-pointed stars. The word ASSAY appears at the left, identifying this piece as an essai strike. A beaded border frames the entire design.
