The Qatar coat of arms is rendered in intaglio at centre-left, flanked by an ornate column and arched architectural vignette against a guilloche underprint in khaki, taupe, and asparagus tones. The denomination numeral '5' appears four times in Arabic script at the corners, with the issuer name in Arabic calligraphy across the upper register. The overall colour scheme combines warm earth tones with silver and platinum security underprints. |

The left vignette presents an intaglio scene of the National Museum of Qatar with its arched colonnaded facade, accompanied by a group of dromedary camels and Arabian oryx in the foreground. A large circular guilloche rosette occupies the upper centre, with an intricate geometric Islamic latticework panel to the right and a decorative arabesque medallion in the lower centre. Denomination numerals '5' appear at lower-left and upper-right, with the English legend 'Five Riyals' at lower-right, all set against a green and gold underprint. |

Qatar Central Bank's 2008 series marked a deliberate redesign from the earlier Qatar Monetary Agency issues, with Thomas De La Rue handling production throughout the run. De La Rue's long relationship with Gulf state central banks made them the default choice for the region during this period, though the security specification here — watermark and thread only — sits at the modest end of what De La Rue was producing contemporaneously for comparable denominations elsewhere.
Cotton substrate was standard across the series. The 5 Riyal denomination within P#29 carried no significant printing variants or documented error types.
