Bradbury, Wilkinson's involvement in Brunei's currency dates to the early years of the sultanate's modern note-issuing program, and this series spans a period of considerable financial transformation — Brunei's Currency Interchangeability Agreement with Singapore and Malaysia had already been in place since 1967, meaning this note circulated at par with the Singapore dollar throughout its entire production run.
The agreement remains in force today, making this one of the few mid-century colonial-era currency arrangements still operationally intact. Bradbury, Wilkinson closed its New Malden works in 1990 after acquisition by De La Rue.
