Opmerkingen

Brunei's 1967 series was the first independent currency issue following the dissolution of the Board of Commissioners of Currency, Malaya and British Borneo — the regional currency authority that had supplied notes to Brunei, Malaya, Singapore, and Sarawak since 1952. When that arrangement ended and the three successor states went their own ways in 1967, Brunei chose to maintain interchangeability with Singapore and Malaysia at par, an arrangement that held with Singapore until 2021.

Bradbury Wilkinson printed the entire inaugural series from their New Malden works. The P#2 is scarce in circulated grades due to low initial demand in a small-population protectorate with limited commercial activity.
