| Obverse description | The obverse is framed by a fine ornamental border with corner rosettes and vertical side panels bearing the word KALMAR in gothic lettering. At the top and bottom margins, the denomination legend FEM RIKSDALER RIKSMYNT appears in letterpress. The bank title Kalmar Enskilda Bank is set in decorative script below the upper border, beneath which a circular vignette carries the municipal coat of arms of Kalmar; to the right, a large guilloche numeral 5 serves as the principal denomination indicator. This is a Prooftryck (proof print) example, as indicated by the manuscript annotations in the lower margin. |
