Obverse description At left, an ornate typographic vignette incorporates the Roman numeral V denoting the denomination. The central field carries the full promissory text in Danish letterpress, with the value stated in both words and numerals, followed by multiple handwritten manuscript signatures. An impressed (embossed dry-stamp) royal coat of arms serves as an official validation mark. At right, a block of anti-counterfeiting warning text is set in a distinct typeface as a deterrent inscription.

Reverse description The reverse is unprinted, presenting a plain paper surface. Show-through of the obverse letterpress text and the embossed royal coat of arms is visible through the leaf, consistent with the thin hand-laid paper stock used for this issue.
