| Obverse description | At centre, the Arabic numeral '٥' (5) and the denomination legend 'ريالات' (Riyals) are enclosed within a raised circular border. Four decorative arms radiate outward from the central circle toward the coin's flat edge, dividing the surrounding field into quadrants. The upper arc carries the Arabic legend 'البنك المركزي اليمني' (Central Bank of Yemen), while the dual dates — given in both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars — are inscribed across the lower field between two of the radiating arms. |
