Obverse description	The obverse is printed in rose-red tones with an intricate guilloche underprint at centre. A vignette of an ancient lion head sculpture appears at left, rendered in intaglio. Arabic inscriptions naming the Arab Republic of Yemen and the denomination occupy the upper and central fields, with the serial number printed twice in red at top right and lower left.

At right, an intaglio vignette of the ancient Timna lion sculpture — a striding lion with a human figure — is rendered in fine detail.
