| Reverse description | Central device features a large armillary sphere rendered in fine detail, displaying meridian and latitude bands with a Portuguese royal shield at its centre. The sphere is surrounded by radiating lines suggesting celestial glory. A beaded inner border separates the central design from the outer circular legend PECUNIA·TOTUM CIRCUMIT·ORBEM, which runs in Roman capitals around the full circumference of the coin. The composition is characteristic of Portuguese colonial coinage of the eighteenth century, reflecting both metropolitan and overseas mint traditions. |
