Obverse description The obverse features the Weimar Republic eagle displayed at center, with wings spread and head turned to the right, rendered in bold relief against a smooth field. The eagle's talons grip the lower field, with detailed feather engraving characteristic of the Weimar-era coinage style. Surrounding the central device is a circular legend reading DEUTSCHES REICH with the date 1929 to the right and the denomination 5 REICHSMARK below, all separated by raised dots. The inscription is set within an inner border of small raised stars forming a denticulated inner rim. The overall design reflects the formal heraldic tradition of the German Republic's standard coinage type.
