Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a panoramic view of the architectural ensemble of the historic city of Goiás, with particular prominence given to the house in which the celebrated poetess Cora Coralina lived and worked. The composition captures the colonial urban landscape in fine relief, emphasizing the city's outstanding universal value as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The legend 'PATRIMÔNIO DA HUMANIDADE - UNESCO' arcs around the design, with 'GOIÁS' and the year '2012' completing the inscription. The overall design commemorates the city's recognition by UNESCO and its deep literary and cultural associations.

Aanvullende informatie

Part of Brazil's ongoing commemorative series honoring individual states, this issue marks Goiás — a landlocked central state whose history pivots on the gold rushes of the early eighteenth century, when Vila Boa de Goiás briefly rivaled Ouro Preto as a processing center for interior gold extraction. The boom collapsed by the 1770s, leaving the region economically marginal for over a century until Brasília's construction in the late 1950s transformed the surrounding cerrado into the administrative heart of the country.

Casa da Moeda struck this in .925 silver with mintages typical of the state series — modest enough to sustain collector demand without entering general circulation.
