Ciskei was dissolved as a nominally independent homeland in 1994 when it was reincorporated into South Africa's Eastern Cape province — making any coin dated 2018 and attributed to that issuer a fantasy piece, produced decades after the authority ceased to exist. These are struck for the collector novelty market, not for any legitimate monetary authority.
