| Obverse description | Central device depicts the Sudanese eagle displayed with wings spread, bearing a shield on its breast and clutching a scroll inscribed with the Arabic legend 'النصر لنا' (Victory is ours). The Gregorian date 1981 appears to the lower left and the Hijri date 1401 to the lower right of the eagle, flanking the device. The Arabic legend 'جمهورية السودان الديمقراطية' (Democratic Republic of Sudan) is inscribed along the lower field within a decorative border. The coin is encircled by a beaded inner rim. |
