| Obverse description | Central field displays the large Arabic numeral '٥' (5) above the denomination legend 'قروش' (Qirsh) in Arabic script. The circular legend 'جمهورية مصر العربية' (Arab Republic of Egypt) runs along the upper periphery in Arabic script. The Hijri year '١٣٩٦' appears to the right and the Gregorian year '١٩٧٦' to the left in the lower field. An ornamental arabesque motif occupies the lower centre beneath the denomination. The coin is bordered by a beaded inner circle and a reeded rim. |
