Additional information

Egypt's 1967 coinage was struck in the immediate shadow of the Six-Day War, during which the country lost the Sinai Peninsula to Israel in June of that year. The economic disruption that followed placed considerable strain on the national mint, and coin production schedules were compressed or interrupted across multiple denominations. Surviving examples from this year in uncirculated condition are noticeably harder to source than issues from adjacent years.
