Obverse description The flat field displays six boldly engraved Chinese characters arranged in two rows of three, reading 長沙乾 / 益字號 (Changsha Chien-Yi Firm), identifying the issuing silver shop. The inscription is rendered in a fluid, brushwork-influenced style characteristic of late Qing private bullion issues. The field is enclosed within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a prominent outer border of raised beads. The surfaces show the typical irregular texture of hand-struck or cast private silver production.
