The P#8 5 Pula was produced by Harrison & Sons at their High Wycombe facility — De La Rue's name appears in the printer credit through corporate association, but Harrison handled this series before their full absorption into the De La Rue group. Three signature combinations span the note's decade-long run, tracking personnel changes at the Bank of Botswana through a period of relative economic stability driven by diamond revenues from the Jwaneng and Orapa mines.
Festus Mogae, who signed as Governor before later serving as President of Botswana from 1998 to 2008, appears in the earliest pairing with P.S. Mmusi.
