Opmerkingen

Union Bank of Scotland's arrangement with Waterlow & Sons for this series placed production firmly in London — an entirely routine situation for Scottish commercial banks of the period, most of whom contracted south of the border rather than maintain their own plate infrastructure. The wartime years bracketing this issue (1914–1920) complicated distribution logistics considerably, though Scottish banknotes continued to circulate with relative stability compared to their English counterparts, partly because public confidence in the chartered banks remained high even as the broader economy strained.

Pick S806 is catalogued as a scarce type. The watermark security was modest by contemporary standards — Waterlow had access to more sophisticated anti-counterfeiting techniques, but Scottish commercial issues of this era rarely demanded their full range.
