Obverse description At center, a stylized spread-winged Egyptian vulture displayed with wings outstretched occupies the lower portion of the field, rendered in a hieroglyphic artistic tradition. Above the vulture, the Arabic legend جمهورية مصر العربية (Arab Republic of Egypt) is inscribed in two lines at center, flanked by a lotus flower motif at the top of the field. The denomination 5 LE appears to the left in Latin numerals, with its Arabic equivalent ٥ جـ to the right. Dual dates are inscribed along the left inner border (1415 / 1994) and mirrored in Arabic-Indic numerals (١٤١٥ / ١٩٩٤) along the right, corresponding to the Islamic AH and Gregorian CE calendars respectively. The abbreviation A·R·E appears centrally below the Arabic legend, and mint marks E / CC are visible at the base of the design within a decorative segmented border.
