| 备注 |
This was the Royal Bank of Scotland's first polymer banknote, issued as part of a broader shift by Scottish commercial banks away from paper cotton-fibre stock. De La Rue's Gateshead facility — not their traditional Debden site — handled production, reflecting the plant's growing role in polymer substrate work after the Bank of England's own polymer transition began around the same time.
RBS retains the right to issue its own banknotes in Scotland under arrangements predating the Bank of England's monopoly in England and Wales — a distinction that still generates periodic political debate. The McEwan signature dates this to his tenure as group CEO, which ran from 2013 until 2019.
