Reverse description The reverse depicts a richly detailed allegorical composition commemorating the history of Egyptian parliamentary life. In the upper field stands the facade of a domed neoclassical parliamentary building. Before it, the Egyptian national emblem — the Eagle of Saladin — is centrally placed, flanked to the left by a group of standing figures beside a curved document scroll inscribed with a date, and to the right by a horse-drawn ceremonial carriage. A large quill pen crosses the central field diagonally, symbolising legislative authority, while a smaller scroll unfurls at the lower centre, evoking historical documents of governance.
