Beschrijving voorzijde A vignette of Marischal College, Aberdeen, occupies the upper centre, flanked on either side by ornate typeset panels bearing the denomination '£5'; three heraldic coats of arms are arranged vertically along the left margin over a fine guilloche underprint. The bank title, promise-to-pay text, issue date of 1st March 1910, and two manuscript signatures appear in the lower register, with the serial number prefix 'A' repeated in two positions.

Beschrijving keerzijde The bank's heraldic arms are centrally positioned within an elaborate surround of lathe-work and guilloche border patterns executed in the fine intaglio style characteristic of Bradbury Wilkinson engraving. The statutory legend referencing the Acts of Parliament under which the bank operated is inscribed around the central design.
