| Obverse description | A vignette of Marischal College, Aberdeen, occupies the upper centre, flanked on either side by ornate typeset panels bearing the denomination '£5'; three heraldic coats of arms are arranged vertically along the left margin over a fine guilloche underprint. The bank title, promise-to-pay text, issue date of 1st March 1910, and two manuscript signatures appear in the lower register, with the serial number prefix 'A' repeated in two positions. |
