| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a symbolic composition representing scientific research, featuring a large stylized gear and sun rays rising behind industrial and technological elements at left, alongside a seated ancient Egyptian scribe figure at right with a wheat ear, evoking the union of ancient heritage and modern science. A circular legend in Arabic script identifying the National Research Centre spans the central field. Below, within a recessed panel at the bottom of the coin, the denomination المركز القومي للبحوث (National Research Centre) appears as an inscription. The design is enclosed by a beaded inner border and a reeded outer border. |

The National Research Centre in Dokki, founded in 1956 shortly after Nasser's revolution, was Egypt's flagship state scientific institution — a deliberate instrument of the broader project to build an industrially self-sufficient republic. This commemorative was issued during the late Mubarak period, when Egypt was still recovering from the economic strain of the 1970s inflationary crisis and the costs of the 1973 war's aftermath, and state-sponsored commemoratives in silver served partly as controlled hard-currency instruments for the collector export market rather than domestic circulation.
The .720 fineness is characteristic of Egyptian commemorative silver from this decade, lower than the .925 used in earlier issues.
