| 备注 |
Cyprus adopted a decimal currency system in 1955, but the pound — styled as the lira in Greek — persisted as the island's unit of account right through to euro adoption in 2008. This P#54 series ran across a five-year window during which the Central Bank was navigating the sustained economic dislocation caused by the 1974 partition, with the northern third of the island still under occupation and outside Nicosia's monetary reach.
Thomas De La Rue produced the series at their Gateshead facility, as was standard for Cypriot issues of this period. The watermark is the sole mechanical security feature on the note — relatively modest by the standards of what other De La Rue clients were demanding by the early 1990s.
