| Reverse description | The central field features the FAO 70th anniversary commemorative logo, composed of the large numeral '7' in relief alongside a circular emblem bearing the FAO wheat-sheaf device inscribed 'FAO' and the motto 'FIAT PANIS'. Surrounding the central device is an inner ring decorated with repeated stylized grain-ear motifs. The outer legend in Latin script reads 'FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANIZATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS' around the upper periphery, while the Arabic equivalent 'منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة' runs along the lower periphery. A milled border of short dashes frames the entire reverse. |

The Food and Agriculture Organization, founded in Quebec City in October 1945, has been commemorated on coinage by member states since the early 1970s — Egypt among the most prolific participants in those series. This 2015 issue marks the organization's seventieth anniversary. Egypt's FAO commemoratives were frequently issued in .720 silver rather than finer alloys, a composition the Central Bank leaned on throughout its commemorative program of this period.
