Cairo University's Faculty of Law, founded in 1906, was the first modern law school in Egypt and produced a remarkable number of figures who shaped twentieth-century Arab nationalism and governance — Boutros Boutros-Ghali among them. Egypt's commemorative gold program has issued dozens of institutional tributes of this type, most in very limited quantities distributed through the banking system rather than general circulation.
