| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a bold, typographic design by Matthew Dent and Christian Davies commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. At the centre of a subtly textured field, the word 'PEACE' is prominently displayed in large serif capitals, flanked vertically by the initial 'W' above and 'R' below, together forming the word 'WAR' and symbolising the transition from conflict to peace. The circular legend 'THE END OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR' runs around the upper border, while the commemorative dates '1945 · 2020' appear in the lower exergue, with the engravers' initials 'CD' and 'MD' flanking the dates. |

Issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, this piedfort strikes twice the standard thickness from the same dies — a format the Royal Mint has used since reviving the piedfort concept in 1982, borrowed from a medieval English practice of producing double-weight pieces as official presentation specimens or die trials. The added mass makes edge detail and field depth noticeably more pronounced than on the standard collector issue.
