| Additional information |
Issued to mark the centenary of the Armistice, this coin belongs to a broader Royal Mint program commemorating the First World War's final year. Britain's tank corps, first deployed at the Somme in September 1916, had by 1918 become a central element of the Hundred Days Offensive that broke the Hindenburg Line — the sustained combined-arms push that finally forced the German surrender in November.
The 28.28g sterling specification is the same used across the Royal Mint's standard proof crown series, a format unchanged in physical terms since decimalisation.
