| 背面描述 | A Jersey shrew (Crocidura suaveolens) depicted in right profile, crouching naturalistically in the central field, engraved by Norman Sillman. The denomination FIVE POUNDS appears in the lower exergual area, while the circumferential legend BAILIWICK OF JERSEY arcs across the upper field. The design is rendered with fine detail against a smooth, polished field. |

Issued to mark the silver wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in November 1972, this Jersey gold piece was struck alongside a broader range of commemorative issues across the British Crown Dependencies that year. Jersey's version was produced in limited numbers through the Royal Mint. At 2.62 grams of .917 gold in a 14.5mm format, it shares its physical specification with the half-sovereign struck for general circulation — a deliberate choice that allowed the Royal Mint to use existing production infrastructure without retooling.
