Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF JERSEY 2014 IRB
Reverse description The reverse features a central heart-shaped design enclosing the famous balcony scene quotation from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, rendered in flowing script lettering: 'O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?' To the right, a hand extends from a draped sleeve reaching downward toward another hand from below, symbolising the star-crossed lovers' meeting. A detailed rose bloom occupies the lower centre of the composition. The denomination FIVE POUNDS is inscribed in a straight legend across the upper field above the heart motif, all set against a deeply mirrored proof background.
