Fantasy or "art" notes styled after British pound denominations and attributed to invented issuing authorities have found a small but active collector market since roughly the 2010s, largely through online auction platforms. This piece — attributed to a nonexistent "Fantasy Bank" of the Azores — belongs to that category entirely. The Azores use the euro; no pound-denominated note has ever had legal tender status there.
The polymer substrate and holographic foil are real production costs, which puts this above the cheapest novelty print runs. Someone spent money on it.
