| 背面描述 | The reverse features the heraldic shield of the Salvation Army, bearing the inscribed words THE SALVATION ARMY in bold diagonal lettering across its face, centrally positioned in the field. The shield is flanked on either side by symmetrical laurel branches forming an open wreath, their stems converging at the base. A prominent ribbon banner arches across the upper portion of the design, bearing the inscription 150 YEAR ANNIVERSARY in raised letters, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the organisation's founding in 1865. |

Alderney's commemorative program has long served as a revenue vehicle for the Bailiwick of Guernsey, producing legal tender issues that circulate nowhere and are sold directly to collectors. The Salvation Army, founded by William Booth in London in 1865, had no particular connection to Alderney itself — the island's wartime history under German occupation is far more its own story.
KM#229 is one of dozens of copper-nickel five-pound pieces issued under the Alderney name in this period, with the denomination exceeding any realistic face-value use.
