Issued to mark the May 2018 marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this was one of several denominations the Royal Mint produced for the occasion — a commercial programme that had become reliably lucrative for the Mint following the 2011 Cambridge wedding. Proof silver strikes were produced in strictly limited numbers against a subscription model, with the bulk of the mintage allocated to collector sets rather than individual sales.
