| Beschrijving keerzijde | A detailed and finely engraved depiction of HMS Victory under full sail occupies the centre of the coin, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The iconic three-masted first-rate ship of the line is shown in a three-quarter view, with accompanying vessels visible to the left and right. A colour-printed White Ensign flies from the mainmast, providing a striking heraldic detail. Small anchor devices flank the lower legend. The circumferential legend THE HISTORY OF THE ROYAL NAVY arcs above, with HMS VICTORY inscribed in the lower exergue, and the denomination FIVE POUNDS appears to the left of the ship's hull. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
HMS Victory was already over 40 years old when she flew Nelson's flag at Trafalgar in 1805, and the ship survives today in Portsmouth — the world's oldest commissioned warship still in active service with the Royal Navy. Jersey's commemorative program for Trafalgar and naval heritage issues leaned heavily on the bicentenary momentum generated after 2005, producing several coins in this window that sold primarily to thematic collectors rather than circulating at face value.
The copper-nickel proof format here is somewhat contradictory — proof dies on a base metal flan, positioned between the collector market and the budget end of commemorative issue.
