| Description du revers | Central to the reverse is a boldly rendered effigy of a Royal Air Force pilot in full flight gear, including helmet, oxygen mask, and flight suit, depicted in three-quarter bust facing left. The figure is set against a background of concentric circular target rings evoking a roundel, with the suggestion of an aircraft cockpit canopy framing at the top of the field. The curved legend SALUTING OUR ARMED FORCES flanks the upper periphery to left and right, with ROYAL AIR FORCE inscribed across the middle field above the pilot. The denomination FIVE POUNDS appears along the lower exergue, flanked by decorative stops. The entire design is bordered by a beaded rim. |

Issued to mark the centenary of the Royal Flying Corps, established by Royal Warrant on 13 April 1912, which later became the RAF following the Air Force (Constitution) Act 1917. Guernsey has no organic connection to the RAF's founding, but the island's Crown Dependency status gives its treasury latitude to issue commemorative currency on essentially any British theme with commercial appeal.
